Papaya apple pie recipe

Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1 Orange Peel (cut into 15 to 20 thin slices)
¼ cup Sweet Rice Syrup
3 cups peeled and sliced Macintosh or Granny Smith Apples
1 cup fresh Papaya
¼ cup pure date Sugar
¼ cup pure Maple Syrup
½ teaspoon Allspice
½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh Rosemary
¼ teaspoon grated Lemon Peel
1 double prepared Piecrust

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a small mixing bowl toss together the orange peel and rice syrup.

Bake on a greased cookie sheet, for 10 minutes.

Let the candied peel come to room temperature; set aside.

In a large mixing bowl combine the apples, papaya, date sugar, maple syrup, allspice, rosemary & lemon peel.

Mix these ingredients well; place them into the prepared pie crust.

Place the second half of the prepared crust on top of the pie.

Fold the edges underneath the bottom crust; press the two crusts together tightly. The crust should be sealed.

Cut four 1-inch slits, equally separated, toward the center of the pie.

Bake the pie on a cookie sheet to catch any spilling over of the filling for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Serve the pie warm or at room temperature- garnished with candied orange peels & Rice Dream ice cream.
