4–5 Carrots , sliced
2 small Onion , sliced
half a head of Cabbage , sliced

Place roast in crock.

Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours.

Place the potatoes, carrots, and onions around and over the roast. Fill slow cooker ½–¾ full with water, depending upon how soupy you like your stew.

Cover and cook on High 2–3 hours.

Lift the lid and put in the cabbage, pushing it down into the broth. Continue cooking on High 1 more hour, or until veggies are done to your liking. The stew should be ready at lunchtime—or dinnertime.
