Directions

Chewy and yet still soft right out of the oven, these oatmeal cookies are my all-time favorite.

Steps

1
Done

Preheat oven to 350°F.

2
Done

Grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.

3
Done

Mix applesauce, sugar, maple syrup, banana, non-dairy milk, and vanilla in a medium bowl.

4
Done

In a large bowl, mix oats, flour, baking soda, and cinnamon.

5
Done

Pour wet mixture into dry mixture, add optional raisins, cranberries, or chips, and gently stir until just combined. If not using raisins, cranberries, or chips, add 1 to 2 extra tbsp of flour.

6
Done

Pick off bouncy ball sized pieces and place on sheet. Alternatively drop spoonfuls of batter onto the cookie sheet if the batter is too sticky or loose to mold into balls.

7
Done

Flatten with palm and leave at least a 1⁄2 inch between each cookie.

8
Done

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until springy to the touch or desired firmness is reached.
