500 g of Mussels
2 cups of Flour
1 large Onion
2 bottles of Beer (335 ml)

Put 2 cups of flour in a bowl, add the 2 bottles of beer, mix well, leave to sit for 5 minutes.

Heat a large frypan on medium heat, add oil and finely chopped onion, cook onion until soft, don’t overcook.

Cut up mussels into small pieces add to the batter. Tip onions from frypan into the batter.

Mix all ingredients together well. Add some more oil to frypan.

Spoon some of the mixture into the heated frypan to make fritters, cook until golden brown on both sides. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with any sauce or chutney.
