Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1½ teaspoons Olive Oil
¼ small Onion , finely chopped
¼ Garlic clove, crushed
¼ teaspoon dried mixed Herbs
115 g tinned crushed Tomatoes
150 g tinned Cannellini Beans , drained and rinsed
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon pure Maple Syrup
2 slices wholemeal Bread
20 g reduced-fat Cheddar Cheese , grated
1 tablespoon chopped fresh Parsley

Throw away the tinned baked beans! Once you’ve tried this recipe, you won’t go back. The flavours are amazing and so satisfying perfect to enjoy after a big morning workout.

Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic and mixed herbs and cook for 3–4 minutes or until the onion is soft and translucent, stirring occasionally

Add the crushed tomatoes, cannellini beans, Worcestershire sauce and maple syrup. Reduce the heat to medium–low and cook for 5–10 minutes or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, toast the bread to your liking.

To serve, place the toast on a serving plate and top with the baked beans. Sprinkle over the grated cheese and parsley.
